Happy to announce I will be PI on a SPRITE+ funded project called: Building a minimal viable digital identity from digital footprints. I have a team of wonderful comp sci collaborators and I can’t wait to share our work.

I wrote this a few months ago for the print edition, but here’s the online version of my Science Focus article about the problems with a relentless focus on correlation when trying to figure out if social media is tanking our mental health: sciencefocus.com/the-human-bod

Going to conferences has made me reflect on “what is my topic, what am I currently doing, what is my identity as a researcher?” All are useful for updating bios, and directing focus (which for myself is blending psychology with behavioural analytics) heathershaw.quarto.pub/blog/ab

Anyone know of any papers which discuss methods of sampling social media users in online research?

Had to write a summary of my research interests as an independent researcher (post PhD and post-doc) Thought I would share.

Lots of book writing today discussing technological innovation such as software as an academic output in psychology and the lack of incentives. Would be interested in hearing the gains academics in computer science receive when developing technologies.

Any other millennials who still have to sometimes write ideas on pen and paper rather than word processing to physically get them out of your head ? Wrote a good 600 words to day by hand because nothing was happening in my brain when typing.
