The biggest question in Republican politics right now is, if the leaders of the party really do try to leave Trump behind, what power does he have to make their lives miserable? What will/can he do?
I've been so bad at predicting the entire Trump saga, I just have no idea. If he turned out to command the loyalty of his cult and run a successful third party bid, it wouldn't surprise me. If he just faded away, screaming ineffectually, it wouldn't surprise me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
