Finished listening to 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami.

It’s quite good but I liked it slightly less than The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (the only other book of Murakami I’ve read). Too much filler IMO.

Also a minor personal quibble. Description of and mathematicians is really cliched. It reminds of a comment by an acquaintance that being a mathematician my job must be boring because how interesting can it be to add numbers all day.

@herid fwiw, I think Kafka on the Shore is the best Murakami. The perfect balance of story and oddness, with no filter at all (to my mind).
