Journalists from @istories_media telephoned several of the Russian aviation squadron soldiers allegedly responsible for overseeing the deadly missile attack against civilian housing in Dnipro. A mix of denial, triumphalism, and surprise. storage.googleapis.com/istorie

Dmitry Golenkov was the most talkative and colorful, insisting that the call must be coming from a Ukrainian because "journalists in Russia don't ask questions." He also ended the call with a rant about all of Ukraine being just a single region of the mighty Russian Federation.

@kevinrothrock he is? is Важные истории based in Russia or are they operating from abroad? I would be surprised if a Russia based outlet would be allowed to publish a story like that.

@herid Not like this, but Russian journalists still ask questions.

@kevinrothrock ok yes, but there are certainly strong restrictions on what they can ask.
