I find it hilarious that a whole bunch of people are now claiming that Techdirt (TECHDIRT!), who has been screaming about FBI overreach for two and a half decades... is obviously an FBI front, or paid off by the FBI, because of our post yesterday showing that the FBI was not, in fact, paying Twitter to censor stories about Hunter Biden.

I support arming and supporting Ukraine on simple moral grounds.

Having said that, all arguments about 'what are we getting for our money' can pretty much start and end with this.

Everything listed here is visually confirmed and everything here will never be used by Russia to threaten Europe or US troops anywhere.

Y'all are chasing working artists away from this place by harping on how "sad" and "pathetic" it is for them to hope for a large follower count here.

It's not about attention. It's about their bottom line. More followers means more commissions, more customers in their online shops, more direct exposure to people with hiring power. It's honestly really cruel to keep acting like they want adulation when really they just want to pay rent.

They have ample reason to mourn what they built.

Seriously tho, they're gonna boot so many accounts, and such a large fraction of them are not going to return, it's gonna put rocket fuel under all the other platforms.

Other than actually pulling the plug on the servers, I'm not sure I could come up with a faster way for Twitter to end itself than annihilating the content creators' ability to use that platform and link out to any other sites.

Earlier today Elon Musk said that my ban was temporary, 45 min later he denied my appeal to reinstate my account and confirmed that I am *permanently* banned. The email I just received says the decision cannot be reversed.
I have never once violated Twitters rules or terms of service. I’ve never had a single tweet flagged, my account was permanently banned with no warning and with no reason, after I reached out to Musk for comment.
