It will be banned In the future one way or the other. Energy consumption is too high for the added value.

Yet, i do still believe energy consumption is unbearable in the long run for the added service. In case of energy shortage, governments will always prioritize industries and services (any activities giving jobs) over crypto. Mining is a physical activity -- that's exactly why it is called proof of work -- so it makes it vulnerable to governments unplugging the mining factories. Now, I think it is better to have that in mind.
