The company I work for scheduled a mock tornado drill today at 1:45pm CDT. People have asked for a while to have it rescheduled since it basically coincides with peak solar eclipse.

They do not appear to be willing to cancel the drill or reschedule. Clearly deliberate.

Glad I decided to work from home today :)

Chainsaw milling another log today. Big one too. The wood is gorgeous.

Our equipment recycler that my employer contracts with sells the "old" and "end of life" machines from us (and other companies) for decent prices. Was in need of a new portable; so I snagged this Lenovo T480s that doesn't even look used (not a scratch) for just over $200. i5-8350U, 16GB, 512GB nvme, touchscreen (1920x1080). Such a nice system.

Wiped the Win10 install and put Mint on it and away we go. Why buy new?

I never have been able to capture a tufted titmouse with the camera until today. See them occasionally; stealthy enough that it's always a treat to see them. #birds #birding
