@redcloud Good to see you're "here". I'd recommend setting up your profile a bit to make it easier to recognize you. 🙇

@short Well, I think what happened is that when I set up this new account I imported my following list before moving my followers from the old account.

I'm still very new at all of this so I might be mistaken. Perhaps doing the follower move then importing followers wouldn't be as confusing.

@short The missing posts are really the only issue.

Transferring followers is automated by the move, so it's easy.

Exporting & importing the lists is simple too.

The biggest PITA is editing your profile & adjusting all of the settings.

@short Yes, unfortunately posts, likes, & bookmarks don't move over. :(

You can export/import following, blocked, etc. lists.

Genuine Ubik satisfies like no other, ask for it by name. Safe when used as directed.

I've moved to the qoto.org mastodon instance because:

* it's STEM oriented

* has nice features like full text search (yea!)

* more local posts in English (my Japanese sucks)

* I don't enjoy all the cartoon porn in mstdn.jp (mostly spread by bots?)

* apparently at least one major FOSS instance blocks mstdn.jp due to the previous point

I apologize for any inconvenience to my followers.
