Hello Mastodon peeps 👋! This is what it looks like across hundreds of neurons in prefrontal cortex when a monkey starts dozing off.

@I_calinjageman the vertical bands show very strong low frequency synchronization across the whole cortical column as the monkey dozes off. You’d see this pattern pretty much anywhere in cortex.

@jonathanmichaels 😍 interestingly this is much more regular/rhythmic than in rat.

Does this mean we can count you in as a member of team sleep?!?!? 🥳😎

@dlevenstein Interesting! This recording was more of an accident, but I’m definitely interested in sleep. Hard to study in a controlled way with monkeys.
