@mata_aimasho@the9thcircle.club No, I just didn't know what each of them did, so I used to push both with the idea of following the repository's activity.

@Pentaxke I don't see a draw. If 4. Kd2, Black is forced to either move the king and escape, losing the knight, or move the latter and be forced to chase the runaway white pawn in the e column.

@lichess

@mata_aimasho@the9thcircle.club Why, I'm glad you asked! If you push the ‘Watch’ button you will be following the activity of the repository (merge/pull requests and issues, but not commits or stuff like that, I think).

The 'Star' button is just a way to measure popularity.

@coolboymew If you think the cover is bizarre, you should read the actual comics.

Is he known? Well, I don't personally know anyone who knows him or his work, but Fantagraphics regularly publishes him, and he lives in California with his wife and kid (according to Wikipedia. Also, he has a Wikipedia page that is more than a stub), so I guess he must be. He's “critically acclaimed”, that's for sure.

@lichess I'm not sure at all, but maybe 1. Kc2 (threatening 2. Rd4++), 1. ..Re4. 2. f3.

@reidrac@social.sdf.org The problem is that saving policies are not enforced. I work in an office with windows all around us, so it makes little sense to turn on the lights. Still, it is the first thing people do when they arrive in the morning. But that's not the fault of DST. It is the fault of people living their life like dumb robots.

You work indoors? That's not DST's fault, either. When I work at home, I do so by the window because working with natural light is more comfortable for me and my tired eyes.

@coolboymew Awesome dude, the author. He came to Madrid, signed copies of _Megahex_ while crossdressing and took pictures with everyone... Fun times.

I finally discovered what the Watch and Star buttons do in Codeberg and now I'm unstarring a lot of repositories.

They'll do everything to avoid the real solution: emoji reactions.

My favorite line in Barenaked Ladies' _Jane_ is the one that goes: “No Juliana next to my Evan” because I'm one of the very few people alive who gets the reference and that makes me feel special.

It's a great song. You should listen to it (and then ask me about that line if you want to. I'd be delighted to fill you in):

@gustav Yep, that's it. The money the company wastes is usually shared between the provider and whoever thought it was a good idea to sign the contract, but sometimes they're too stupid to even ask for a share.

@hund

@rumbatron Porque es más caro y en realidad no tiene mucho sentido. Sería más fácil crear algo nuevo y contratar a profesionales de empresas del sector.

@Argyle13

My favourite thing when using social media is getting people in contact with other people.

I feel really satisfied when someone asks: “How can I do this?” or “Can someone help me with this?” or “Where can I buy this?,” and I get to reply: “Well, I just happen to know this guy...”

@reidrac@social.sdf.org Just give it a try, and if it doesn't work for you, tell the developers about your experience, so they can improve their application.

There's also @owncast, by the way.

@ggtr1138

@galdor@emacs.ch Not to mention top-posting and the obligation to include the whole thread in your email just in case someone gets added to the conversation at a later date.

Oh, and what about the need to always use HTML due to some people using different colours to reply inline? It's insane.

BTW, I recently read that most NNTP servers are defederating from Google Groups due to spam. With some luck, that will revitalise Usenet.

@santiago Hombre, poder ampliar una foto y centrarte en los detalles tiene mucha utilidad.

In case you missed it, too, the point is: Go read Kurt Vonnegut's _Cat's Cradle_.
