The Yes Men prank impersonate Paul Wolfowitz to put out an anti-war message:

"Tom Basile actually knows Wolfowitz, as he mentioned during the broadcast. Andy hadn't planned to impersonate him, so he didn't bother listening to his voice — and we're pretty sure he sounds nothing like him. Yet Basile never noticed. Could Basile's complete lack of observational ability have anything to do with his horrible politics?"

Why does nobody create a service that competes with LinkedIn? LinkedIn is complete garbage on every level imaginable (usability, discoverability, search...). It just doesn't work. At all. It's the Cyberpunk 2077 of social networks. No amount of patching can fix that shit.

I forgot something important: I really appreciate being corrected when I'm wrong, so please don't be shy. Thank you.

I'm trying to improve my Japanese by replying to everyone whose posts I understand with what I hope is both a grammatically correct and coherent reply. If you got one and can read this, please forgive me if they're neither. I don't mean to bother you or anything. My Japanese is just that terrible.

Also, you will need to say gomenkudasai every time you screw up. If you're anything like me, you'll have plenty of opportunities to use that. Trust me.

Also also, there are parties in Japan, “international parties.” My Japanese teacher met her husband at one of those. What do they consist of? No idea. She didn't tell.

Please come work for us. We’ll do anything. We’ll give you free parking. We’ll give you 10 percent off in-store purchases. We’ll give you company swag where you can barely see the company logo, so it’s basically just cool free clothes. We will do literally anything to get you to work for us except pay you enough. You want a keg in the break room? You got it. You want your break in the keg room? Okay by us! What do you want? Name it, it’s yours! As long as it’s not a living wage. What about an immediate cash bonus as soon as you start working, to mask the fact that we don’t provide healthcare or enough consistent pay for you to afford rent? Is that something you want? Please say it’s something you want. We will clap for you every time you clock in. We will make you feel guilty every time you clock out. There will be a big group meeting every morning where you and your coworkers go around in a circle and tell each other what a great job you’re all doing. Does that sound like a reasonable replacement for fair monetary compensation? Look: it’s not about the money for us. Never has been! It’s about passion. It’s about community. It’s about teamwork. It’s about making you think it’s not about the money for us, when it’s actually all about the money for us, and specifically not about the money for you. Jobs aren’t for financially sustaining you—they’re for financially sustaining us. So if pay and benefits are what you’re after, you’re not going to find them in this job, or any job. But if a gift card on your birthday with your name spelled wrong that’s only valid for one month in-store is what you’re looking for, then this is the place for you! Oh, and if you get one of your friends to come work here too, we’ll throw in a recruitment bonus! That’s how much we value you! So, please come work for us. We’ll do anything you want—except, of course, pay you enough.

You all probably have heard of or used this service already, but I just learned about it and I think it's a great idea:

A pastebin-like service to be used from the terminal. No bloat at all.

Thinking men and women the world over are beginning to realize that patriotism is too narrow and limited a conception to meet the necessities of our time.

Computing is pop culture. [...] Pop culture holds a disdain for history. Pop culture is all about identity and feeling like you're participating. It has nothing to do with cooperation, the past or the future - it's living in the present. I think the same is true of most people who write code for money. They have no idea where [their culture came from].

I like , but I wish people would stay after the movie to comment on it. That's one of the cool things about going to the cinema with friends: You talk about what you liked (or what you didn't like) over dinner or some drinks, or just walking back home together. That leads to all kinds of interesting conversations, sometimes even unrelated to the movie. I missed that.

Fíjate qué fácil si se quiere.

¿Está OpenSuse? Que se ponga.

Ooooye.

...

Y auditando, claro.
