Hanging at a neighborhood grocery's upstairs cafe, doing software development like it's 1983.

I put together a short video about #Commodore #c64 serial number S00001450: the 450th c64 to ever roll off the assembly line. It's a little look inside and out plus a short demo of it working. That's right - all original chips and it's still working!

The ARM processor ( 1st working in 1985 ) was made available as a 2nd processor for the BBC Micro in 1986 - both created by Acorn Computers. The ARM Evaluation system featured 2/4MByte of RAM and an 4MHz ARM 1 CPU. This cost a whopping £4,500+VAT excluding the BBC Micro!

Well that’s freaky, it looks like Apple have put floppy drive support back into MacOS. #retrocomputing #xp

The snake? "Pai*thn"
The comedy troupe? "Pai*thn"
The programming language? "Pai*thoOoOn"

Why?! That's so f*ing annoying.... it sounds wrong every single time I hear someone say it...

36 years ago today the #Amiga was released. 32 years ago this month my late father made this Amiga/Monitor stand for a teenage me.

Today's vintage computer pick-up number 1: PowerMac G4 :Mirror drive bay, FireWire800 version.

Sadly, this version is not capable of running OS9 naively.... out of the box anyway. Some clever folks online seem to have found ways to make it work.'

So far I've had no luck with the burned CD but I'm going to keep trying...

This is not a Commodore 64 garbled screen, this is an action maze chase game under development in a C programming language 😎 😀

We’ve been focusing on climate monitoring this month & today is the birthday of Thomas Stevenson, designer of the Stevenson screen in the 1800s

We still use Stevenson screens today to provide shade for thermometers, making sure readings are accurate & consistent

@stirz @Wintermute_BBS Yes, more powerful BASIC and they do have a dedicated rs232 chip and that means higher speeds but they have locked GPIO pins on the user port for a specific application; if not for that, these would be a great retro embedded platform from the '80s :)

@stirz @Wintermute_BBS I believe that black color is coming from the ZX Spectrum because commodore TED machines (plus/4, 16) was intended to compete with ZX Spectrum machine :)

@notawizard I hope that You will get better soon, we miss some new retro content on the channel :)
