Bacchus/FLT just made an amazing video going into depth of #c64 VIC coding.

It's another in the democoding series he's been doing and well worth a watch.

Trying to speed up my #c64 #Wavefunctioncollapse makes for a pretty nice #genuary5 "Debug View".
The red border represents the propagation step, while the black border represents the wave function collapse step (where there are no constraints left to propagate, so the algorithm takes a "guess" at a cell with minimal entropy. Also, cells that are shown in red "glitch art" are those currently queued for a constraint check by the propagator. #genuary

How #software #development generally scales:

Two #developers can get the same job done in twice the time as one.

This is my version of a gaming setup.
I tried to make it so that a few consoles are always plugged in and ready. Then there's the "jump spot" for taking consoles off the shelf an easy plug in.
Putting the TV on the wall with a swivel arm helped free up room.
Cable management is always in need of improvement.
Wanna come over and play?😊

...but what else could be behind the final door of the advent calendar than the BBC Micro itself! Released on 1st December 1981, this "best of breed" home computer kickstarted the British computer literacy boom and launched countless IT careers - mine included. Merry Chistmas! 🎅

The scene outside today here in Seattle. 👀

(Gorgeous Deluxe Paint art I found on a disk a few years ago; photo of my Amiga's CRT. I need to find that disk again!)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, folks!

there WAS going to be one more LGR Christmas video today on a TRS-80 thing, but nope, didn't work out.

So instead here's a holiday Blerb!

With procedural generation you can save a lot of space for content but did you know that Pitfall! on the Atari 2600 uses one byte (!) to describe a room? Here's the link to an article describing how that works:
