How to move your account here, a thread.
1. Apply for an account here.

Introduce yourself properly in the „reason to join“ field, and DO NOT delete your old account (ever).
Approval may take a while and your signup request may never be approved at all. Increase your chances by properly introducing yourself.
Bonus Points for linking to your existing account!
2. Log into your NEW account when it was approved.
Then go to
Preferences >
Account >
„Moving From A Different Account“ (at the bottom of the screen)
click on „Create an account alias“ and follow the instructions to create an alias to your OLD account.
3. Disable Notifications, especially for new followers:
Preferences >
Notifications >
„EVENTS FOR E-MAIL NOTIFICATIONS“ >
disable all.
If you skip this, you will not have „Inbox Zero“ for a while.
4. Wait a bit before you initiate the move. It’s important that the alias is set before you continue. Some guides out there recommend waiting at least 5 mins.
5. When you’ve finished waiting, log into your OLD account, go to
Preferences >
Account >
„Move To A Different Account“ (at the bottom of the screen) >
click on „Configure it here“
and follow the instructions.
This will start transferring your followers to the new account. This will happen in waves and take a while. Don‘t worry, it looks scary at the beginning.
You may also „lose“ a few inactive followers along the way.
