I enjoyed this ep of The Newsagents podcast. In it, Lewis Goodall visits a ‘Warm Welcome’ centre in Birmingham Northfield. It’s run by the Northfield Arts Forum, a shoestring organisation, and provides a hot meal, a warm place, and fun arts activities for adults and kids. The little boy at the start loves the place, the choir at the end is full of joy, but this is, as Goodall says, the normalisation of poverty.
