El otro día en la red del pajarito me preguntaron una duda que consideré bastante interesante, y que quienes trabajáis con la estadística a diario seguramente os hayáis hecho alguna vez:

¿Por qué el nivel de confianza de los intervalos y/o los contrastes de hipótesis se suele fijar en el 95%? ¿Ese 95% tiene algún motivo matemático, o es simplemente un convenio?

I think this news story is more interesting than it might first appear (without knowing details, so grain of salt). It isn’t just a gaming curiosity; it points to a fundamental flaw with “deep learning” approaches in general.
