The reason this account looks like it's ran by 3 insane peoploe is because there are 3 insane peoeple who develop the game. One of them eats glue. No idea wwhat the other 2 do anymore. I stopped talking with them becuase they accused me of being weird -_- Yeah ok.... well. ok Yeah i think they are right. I literally ate glue. That is just a bit weird. OK....Whatever. To us, the sun is a big bright yellow ball, but to the sun, we are all the same, and tiny, like butterflies---beautiful.

You developed Gecko and you have shared my posts before.

My political activism group Stop Gen AI and @alexia both keep lists of Gen AI-free software.

I tend to recommend LibreWolf and Tor Browser, which are both, as you probably know much better than I do, forks of Firefox and great grandchildren of the versions of Firefox with Gecko you were directly a part of.

Whereas Alexia and some other devs are concerned that with the Gen AI fuckery Mozilla is into these days (none of us trust the new Firefox AI "killswitch" at all) will make it difficult for the developers of Firefox forks to continue to keep Gen AI out of their browsers.

As, to the best of my knowledge, all currently supported web browsers for modern endpoints use either Firefox or Chrome/Chromium "upstream," and we know how evil Google is... There may be a need for a new web rendering engine from scratch that is led by a team that takes a principled stance against Gen AI and overall privacy violations.

I have no idea how willing or not you're able to work on web engine development again, but at the very least, you would be able to advise me about how to find people who can develop a new web engine.

Obviously, we keep this FOSS and probably license under GPL.

But I was thinking of a Kickstarter campaign and a donation page (donationware) on the project's website to generate funds for developers so they can afford to work on this.

There's probably a massive demand among people who know how dangerous Gen AI is for there to be a new web engine completely independent of Mozilla and Google, that takes a strong stance against LLM vomited code and Gen AI software features from the very start.

En Asturias tenemos, como en muchas otras regiones, una variedad lingüística que afecta, queramos o no, a nuestra forma de ser. El lenguaje está pegado a nuestra vida, a nuestra cultura, y presente en todos los actos y consecuencias que conforman nuestra existencia dentro de un territorio. Por supuesto, como en tantas otras lenguas, no somos ajenos al fenómeno de los “falsos amigos”. Y hoy me gustaría hablar de uno de mis favoritos.

La palabra “repunante”, así escrita, perdiendo esa g tan agresiva que venía en medio del vagón, se usa mucho en la sociedad asturiana. A pesar de que nuestra lengua no es mayoritaria, y que todavía queda mucho por andar para recuperarnos del maltrato y persecución que sufrió a manos de aquellos que odian la diversidad, esta palabra es bastante utilizada a día de hoy.

Su significado, sin embargo, no es tan despectivo como el de su versión castellana, donde goza de sinónimos como repulsivo, asqueroso, nauseabundo, inmundo, desagradable, hediondo, infecto, pútrido o mugriento (los que pone la RAE). Todo muy bonito, ya ven.

En Asturias usamos la palabra “repunante” para describir a alguien tiquismiquis o pejiguero. Pero, y he aquí lo más importante, en un contexto mucho más familiar y cariñoso. ¿No te gusta la comida que preparé? Ay, qué repunante yes. ¿Cómo que no quieres ir al cine a ver la última de Joachim Trier porque no es de risa? Tas fechu un repunantin.

Los asturianos usamos mucho esta expresión, así que no es raro oírla en cualquier rincón de esta tierra, tanto por gente que habla asturiano como los que no. Una dato simpático, la palabra se define en base al verbo repunar de la siguiente forma (según el Diccionario de la Llingua Asturiana):

repunante: ax. Que repuna. 2 Que-y repuna too [una persona].

repunar: v. Producir sensación de refugu [una cosa, una persona]. Repúname lo dulce. 2 Sentir una sensación de refugu por [una cosa], por [una persona]. Repuné les fabes.

¿Qué tiene esto de curioso? Que el verbo repunar se puede usar de forma activa (yo repuno) como pasiva/reflexiva (me repuna). Que me perdonen los filólogos que no sé si se dice así, pero creo que se me entiende. ¿No es bonito?

Hoy me dio por escribir sobre esta palabra porque ayer le estaba explicando a un compañero de trabajo de fuera de Asturias cómo evolucionaba mi lesión de espalda. En un momento dado, la comparé con un dolor de muelas. No suelen ser muy graves, pero ambos interfieren en tu vida diaria y te agrian el carácter. En concreto, le dije que me había vuelto todavía más “repunante”. Su cara fue un poema.

No has entendido nada.

No estoy en contra de cualqueir IA. Estoy en contra de la IA generativa. La IA de diagnostico, que es un sistema de clasificación de datos basada en machine learning y redes neuronales, pero que (a) no se ha generado robando masivamente datos, (b) ni tienen un impacto medioambiental masivo no está en esa categoria.

Digo más.

Aunque la IA diagnóstica necesita muchísimo menos poder de computación que la IA generativa, sigue necesitando hardware, energía y materias primas. Esos mismos hardware, energía y materias primas que la IA generativa consume de forma masiva, reduciendo su oferta y alterando su disponibilidad. Entre otras, reduciendo su disponibilidad para (exactamente) desarrollar y hacer funcionar la IA diagnostica.

Así que si mi médico me detecta un cáncer gracias a la IA diagnostica, no lo hará gracias a la IA generativa, sino A PESAR de ella.

Así que sí. Seguiré estando en contra de la IA generativa.
