The Spiral Jetty is an earthworks work of art on the shore of the Great Salt Lake.

One of the neat things about it is that it changes with the lake - the lake is very shallow, so relatively small changes in the lake level can leave it completely high and dry, or submerge it entirely. (Though the level is falling in general, and it may never recover, but that's a different post.) When it's in between, the water color in different parts of the spiral can be different colors since the relatively calm water can have different salinity depending on how far into the spiral you are.

You don't really know what you're going to get on any given day without just going out there, because it is not close to *anything*.
