The Czech Republic has a very weak air force with 12 leased gripens from the swedish air force and 16 L-159s (subsonic and basically useless in modern warfare) which are not enough to establish air superiority against modern air force in the scenario where the US won't honor the NATO's Art.5 (possible if trump gets re-elected).
Taking the very conservative value of 2.75B EUR derived from the very conservative projection 230.0 B GDP of the Czech Republic on 2022 and assuming that around 40% of that gets used on maintenance of the current fleet and logistics + lease of gripens until 2027 that would leave us with at least 1.25B EUR.
Why is that not invested in further development of czech air superiority fighters and it's production?
