Next time someone complains about singular "they" I'll point them to this 17th century rant against singular "you"
@kacey Despite the humor of imaging there was some God speaking English as a divine language, the writer isn't wrong. English really needs a plural you (or a singular one instead), which is currently being filled by "y'all". As grating as it is to hear, English needs "y'all".
