Excited to announce that we'll be hiring a 3-year postdoc for our WARN-D project (www.warn-d.com). The postdoc's main tasks will include to help us build an early warning system for depression, based on the 2-year prospective dataset (including smartwatch & smartphone data) we're currently collecting in 2000 students.

Position should be online soon, I'll make sure to post it here! We have a massive & immensely challenging dataset, & are eager to further grow the team to avoid the below :)

I may lack sufficient reach at this point to get meaningful responses to this poll, but here it goes... and please feel free to boost for reach!

Would you be interested in a free (virtual) training workshop? If so, select your preferred option in the survey. You can also reply if you want me to "at" you with more details later.

I will be conducting training for my new research collaborators in early 2023 and could open it up to those outside the lab if there is sufficient interest.

Disclaimer: I'm NOT affiliated with PsychoPy and don't develop it, but I do use it.

There is a suggestion that young people in particular may not be inclined to post in case they say something stupid. As someone who has long retired there is nothing that I miss more than interacting with young people. I am many others would really benefit from your contributions. I have said many stupid things in my career, and it often led to better understanding on my part.

I guess I'm here now instead of twitter. I'm a phd student researching deep learning for medical image registration. If for some awful reason you need to align several hundred CT scans, check out my library icon_registration (icon.readthedocs.io)

Hi all - another neuroscientist here making the switch.

I'm a post-doc trying to navigate my way through the world of academia. As is true for many ECR's , I'm playing a high-risk gamble with my future - trying to balance ambitious research with short-term contracts. Will it be worth it or should I have followed the side dream of opening a Beetroot themed deli and music venue (Beets and Beats)? I guess we'll find out together over the coming years...

Anyway, I research learning and memory, but am obsessed by all things orientation and navigation. How do we know where we are, how do we guide our actions to achieve a goal, and how are our memories ultimately used to guide our behaviour?

Mostly tooting neuroscience - with the occasional aside for gardening, cooking and music.

Hello People!

I am a Post-doc wrapping up its PhD at the Max-Plank Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics. I am currently working on , studying liver architecture establishment during mouse .

I mainly use microscopy and cell culture to understand how cells establish their polarity and contribute to overall tissue organization. I'm interested in and always looking forward to learning more on this topic.

In academia, no matter how much you work, there will always be more that you can do:
-another paper to read
-more edits to the manuscript
-a new committee to serve on

The key is to recognize that NOBODY can do all they want to. Do what you can and know you're doing your best - Prof. Jen!
