Here's the video of a virtual talk I gave yesterday on dynamical systems theory in neuroscience. I suggest that the language of attractor basins can be used to discuss high level behavioral phenomena, including some symptoms of psychiatric disorders.

#ChatGPT has created a new wave of amateur futurists who've made some bold and nonsensical predictions based on nothing more than their being surprised at the output. When you show people where it fails spectacularly, they seem to shrug it off as though a couple more tweaks and everything will be fine. The cost of failure is low for the ChatGPT demo but in the real world, these failures can have devastating consequences. In synthetic biology classes, I ask students what biological function they want to create, and one popular answer is "photosynthesis in mammals".

Now, it's achieved! The authors transplanted membrane-coated thylakoids into chondrocytes and mice! Congrats!
