@myraccoonhands that would be nice. Always eager to learn new things.

@talibsaheb The short version is: Terraform is an Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tool that automates infrastructure deployment, implementation, and/or programmatic iterations/tasks. It’s fairly agnostic and can be used across different cloud platforms and makes it easier to spin up environments in an efficient and predictable way.

Thanks @myraccoonhands - I do code some system stuff, should look at some of the videos to see I could use it.

@jjx - Does Terraform fall into one of the products for ZeroTrust ?

@talibsaheb @jjx I wouldn’t say that. It’s more of a utility than anything else. Zero Trust is basically a set of philosophies, modeling, or a strategic approach that follows the notion of eliminating implicit trust and aims to limit or block everything by default. It’s kind of a repackaging of “Least Privileged Access” in so many words. You can apply security measures, features, and functionalities to Terraform blueprints or files, for example, but it’s not a security product. It’s an architectural automation tool.

@talibsaheb @jjx Further, depending on what you code, if you’re looking to find a tool that does more granular configuration Ansible may be a better fit depending on the use case. Ansible can do similar things to Terraform, but is more versatile for software provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment functionality.

@talibsaheb @jjx This is a pretty good explanation of how they’re similar but different.

@myraccoonhands @jjx I did look at Ansible in the past. Probably will use it in the next year.
