After I did the story about the dad whose Google account was closed and deleted for taking a photo of his naked toddler for the doctor, I heard from a distraught mother in Colorado who was going through the same thing and didn't know why. @adamconover I've done the recycled computer plex thing before. Let me tell you: there is nothing like a purpose built NAS. I got myself a Synology, and it is a thing of beauty. Efficient to manage, runs well, RAID, a bunch of apps (including plex). It's more expensive, but you won't have any problems with performance or management or worry about a disk failure wiping out everything. And it fits on your shelf!
