An acquaintance from my PhD cohort has become a climate change denier and regularly shares analyses disproving climate change or implicating climate scientists in fraud or biased research. He himself is a philosopher of physics, and claims to have only "decided to stop letting other people tell him what to think on this topic" and...wait for it...do his own research.
