I have lived as an adult with the breathtaking speed at which technology has evolved since the 1970s. After what I have seen in these last 50 years, I can not even grasp the extent to which technology is going to change and shape our lives in the next ten to twenty years. But I do agree with Roser's paper about "the immense power that technology gives those who control it" and that " it is a mistake to leave the question about the future of technology to the technologists."
We all have a huge responsibility in this matter. This could not be left to either technologists or politicians to decide. As individuals and as a society, we need to be active, gain knowledge and engage in the debate about the world we want to live in and how we want our future as the human race to be.
