@Dave today you danced the intricate dance called "living in society" and we're all so proud of you
@shibao thank you for posting; got me to the gym
Isn't #JaronLanier just describing the #fediverse here? Is it really possible he doesn't know about it? His groups are like our servers, small and locally moderated with an incentive to maintain a good reputation. But where it's easy to switch. Hmm...

@wjmaggos "I say, test these ideas. Let’s find out." Totally, Jaron. I really hope someone does one day
If the goal is to use less meat, why don't we like... Feed them more rice and beans? Corn? Something easier to get right
@Sir_Munchnuts also a thing that makes sense to me, yes
@Sir_Munchnuts eh, that feels different again. 'they' do control access to many things you need in order to build bombs like ammonia and etc at least to an extent. Also your car isn't like obviously going to be used to kill. Not saying a gun is either. I own guns and a car, but what I don't own is a backpack full of 60 magazines and 1600 rounds of .223 ammo like the uvalde killer had... Kinda hard for me personally to stomach that being just a-ok, with no questions asked.
@Sir_Munchnuts drugs and abortion seem less complicated and capital intensive to create. Feels like an easier black market to sustain, but I hear your point. As for gun laws in Chicago.. not sure what the delta is before and after but I'll go check it out that might be interesting
@Sir_Munchnuts why don't you think so?
The Internet is an F-350 Super Duty, and was literally designed for things to be just dumped on it.
