Incredibly sad to hear of Anchor Brewing shutting down after 127 years: sfchronicle.com/food/wine/arti

A huge loss. Though, the writing was on the wall when some absolute dingbat in charge got rid of their amazing historic label design and made it look like generic Trader Joe’s crap.

It's a gas station. It's a jerky bar. It's a set of very clean bathrooms. It's a gas station. It's a jerky bar. It's a bathroom. Are you getting it? This is not three highway stops. It's one highway stop. And they call it Buc-ee's.

For years
the newspaper of record
featured a tracker
devoted to the pandemic
but once the virus
became normalized
the tracker disappeared.

And now
the newspaper of record
features a tracker
devoted to dangerous temperatures
I wonder how long

Hiring a software engineer in their late 40s:

Pros:
* Understands your stack better than you do after glancing through the repo for five minutes.
* Will rewrite said stack 2x as fast, and half as buggy if you let them.

Cons:
* Gives zero fucks.
* Knows we're not *really* like family here.
* No, seriously, absolutely zero fucks given.

Do not cite the deep magic to me, product manager, I was there when it was written.

This is Zoey. She was just honored by Guinness World Records as having the world's longest tongue, at a very impressive five inches. It literally doesn't fit in her mouth... and never has.

Using BBEdit to basically*instantly* open and parse a .csv with 1.3 million rows while Numbers and Excel both effectively fall over and die is a reminder of why BBEdit isn’t JUST a ‘code editor’ and that every Mac user who can POSSIBLY afford it should buy it.

($%^&* me do I love this app… )

Here's a tip:

If you're on the iOS 16.4 beta, disable the beta channel in Software Update ⇾ Beta Updates, and you'll be able to get the public version of 16.4.
