@emiliano There's plenty of uninteresting stuff, but its what you make of it I think, treat it as a learning exercise. The most boring are generally where I get frustrated being foreign and I'm tasked with working on something where I'm hobbled by the fact I'm not cleared to see all the data or whatever.
Most interesting was a few years ago where I ported some of the old Voyager spacecraft ground data systems from Sun OS to "modern" Go systems in AWS.
@emiliano I did have access to the data, it's on a who needs access basis. I did have fun though working through loads of spec pdf docs to work out how the encoded telemetry is decoded into something meaningful and also how to convert C based bitwise operations into Golang versions which was all new to me.
The fun difference is, these days, you wouldn't be able to do this project because of all the 3rd party dependencies build chains rely on, back in the 80s that wasn't a concern 😄
@magicaltrout totally. Wow. Voyager! That thing is still alive. Do you have access to live data or something like that. That is something that I find fascinating. I even have the news paper when pathfinder arrived to mars
