@thedudeabidez88 legs are overrated...
@woodpunk Thats the project I work on!
Oh... no, not that one....
@brody yeah, I'm working on other stuff thanks. Just a shame to move on from the rover. Wont miss the late night standup meetings though! 😄
I, for one, welcome my friends @BBCRD to the #fediverse - running their own Mastodon instance! 🎉 https://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/blog/2023-07-mastodon-distributed-decentralised-fediverse-activitypub
@PaulHammond51 @doug_ellison @65dBnoise You know these rover drivers, like race car drivers, massive egos! 😆
Quite hoping that a bunch of folk work out what plot of land the Darwalls own and many people rock up there for a camp.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-66341778
Any UK #cassette fans want a freebie grab bag of cassettes? I have...erm...a somewhat sizeable stockpile...of tapes that I need to thin down into a smaller, more curated collection.
Here's the deal: you give me a genre, list of artists, or a time period and I'll try to include at least some to suit. The rest will be selected at random from 4,000 items.
I'll send you 15 tapes (you tell me how many you want) for a fixed postage cost of £5.
That's it. No tricks. Just free tapes!
Please boost.
@PaulHammond51 @65dBnoise Oh I recall that rockface, I didn't realise it ended up on top of it! 😀
Good work from the rover drivers!
Sometimes folk worry when the Mars Rover hasn't gone anywhere for a while, or isn't returning any science. But at least we haven't yet messed it up this bad, eh @65dBnoise @PaulHammond51 😀 https://blogs.nasa.gov/sunspot/2023/07/28/mission-update-voyager-2-communications-pause/
Nice of the BBC to point out what I've been telling people for years (admittedly I failed/dropped out of uni 3 times) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-66086450 #jobs
@jadp there is certainly an alure with older craft, we're lucky on the local waterways that trade still just about exists so you can get more modern versions.
When I was speaking with the seller he made a very good point I feel about the older boats though, in that we're not really owners, we will invest more money into them than they are ever worth, but we're custodians for future generations, so our kids and theirs can see a bit, hopefully, of living history on our reasonably unique local waterways.
@jadp 😄 I did wonder
Okay so it is technically a downsize (once I offload 2 other boats), but I have bought a boat that is 97 years old!.... 😬
