the parallels between Pareto and Marx are really cool. Marx has bourgeois and proletariat, Pareto has elites and non-elites. Marxism has cultural hegemony, Pareto has the exact same thing because that's where Gramsci stole it from. Marx has revolution, Pareto has circulation of the elites. Marx isn't the complete picture, and Pareto should be just as influential as Marx but on the right. Pareto was also a lifelong opponent of Marxism and wrote long pieces attacking it

@augustus i only know paretonfor being one of the first people to claim that economics where determined by physical laws that enforce inequality. Doesn't seem like an idea that would be useful for anything other than passive conservative ideology.

@mandlebro that's his economic work, he was also a political scientist and a sociologist. the question he wanted to answer forced him into several different areas
