I hope I'm not just a weirdo, but most high-profile birdsite folks don't remember or even know how long you can go without getting even a drop of engagement. When I started there it was like a social desert. People would post really cool stuff, but the algos just kind of shut it down...or at least that was my perception. Here it feels like most everyone has a fair shot of getting some good dialog going. Am I off on this? What is your experience?
@c0nsid3rate I know what you mean. I have a page on Facebook with about 800 followers and I get 1-2 likes per post. I get 0 reactions on my personal profile when I include a link or share a post from other profiles and this is because no one sees what I post, the reach is extremely low. I am happy on #mastodon so far. I wish more people will join us because right now I don't have a single person that I know in person here.
@maricela but you can still have dialog if you don't know people here. Imagine that!
