After 10 years since the @EU_Commission proposal, we will now have an EU law for gender equality on company boards.

The glass ceiling preventing women from accessing top positions in companies has been shattered.

This is a truly historic and moving moment.

@vonderleyen @EU_Commission Very well! So many men say that there is no glass ceiling, but we see it everywhere. Look at the Romanian government... do you think that this is what Romanian women voted for? Some of those men can't even speak English... there is no meritocracy here, but there is a lot of misogyny in our politics and we need European laws to combat it because democracy can't save us. We can only vote for parties and the big parties promote only men since most of the party members are also men... what can we do? Women here don't want to get into politics because all they would do is to help the ambitious men win the elections and then have their male friends get high positions in the government. I thought I could make a difference, I tried, but we are too few to matter and the most aggressive and competitive men always win. I don't want to spend my life in a political party helping this type of people become rich and powerful.
