Reviving a project I abandoned several years ago. It's a pendant made from PCBs with side-emitting LEDs and a laser cut wood bezel. The bezel is glued to the PCB & the cutouts filled with translucent resin. I gave up on this specific design because CR2032s don't supply enough power supplies for more than a couple of addressable LEDs, but these pendants look ok as long as number and intensity of lit LEDs are kept low in code. They'll make good party favors and I won't waste the PCBs.

Short video of an animation on the pendant. I like the color mixing effect in the resin. Not sure the best way to upload longer videos to Mastodon, but if I figure it out, I'll link to one showing some different patterns.

Added resin and a drop of white dye to the PCB/bezel assemblies and set them to cure under a UV lamp for 4 minutes. This is my first time using UV resin vs. the kind that takes a day to cure, and this way is SO much easier, not to mention far more gratifying for my "is it ready yet?" temperament.

The pendants are finished aside from adding a string/clasp. I had some heart-shaped PCBs from the last time I worked on this project, so I built those as well.

@geekmomprojects are you going to blog/open source these? Would love to try it but 3D print the case as I don’t have a CNC…. Yet.

@markmcgookin I wasn't planning to, as I abandoned this project a while back because I didn't (and still don't) love powering addressable LEDs from coin cell batteries. Assembling the PCBs also requires SMT soldering 4020 side-emitting SK6805 LEDs, which can be tricky. And the processor is a ATTiny 1614 which required me to build an UPDI programmer out of an Arduino Nano to include the code. If that's a challenge you'd like to take on, I can give you the Eagle files for the PCB and...

@markmcgookin ... The vector files for the bezels. You can always get the bezels laser cut by an online service, but 3D printing would work as well. It would take me a few days to get the information to you, but you can DM me to let me know if you still want it.
