@JChengWSJ_mirror I honestly suspect Xi PingPoo rolled these back as drastically as he did precisely to spite the country and lay the blame on his critics rather than himself.

R to @JChengWSJ: The rapid changes have left some citizens bewildered. Some have expressed anger at the swift reversal of zero-Covid, and those who called for changes are facing much of the blame, even as those at the top who ordered the changes have remained shielded. on.wsj.com/3I2deJj nitter.hongkongers.net/JChengW

@gme
Certainly wouldn't surprise me, though I still don't get why flying around and around in a jet would help with that when he could have just stayed home and played with his stupid toy guns.

Incredible. On Facebook, a former cop espouses “misogynistic, transphobic, Islamophobic and anti-immigrant” views. He’s had posts flagged as false; at least twice he’s been banned from posting. But police agencies across the country can’t get enough of him and his absurd training, building criminal cases on the junk science he relentlessly touts.

Twitter outages are spiking.

Which is entirely expected.

Ever since Elon Musk fired everyone, we knew this would happen more often.

It kind of makes you wonder if the Kremlin clown himself is coming… but I suppose he will stay in his bunker.

@nealr Aside from being insensitive to a huge swathe of the population who actually have to deal with the fallout of SCOTUS's horrible decision, the fact that you think Musk buying Twitter is more important than Roe v. Wade being overturned shows a) just how grotesquely overrated Twitter is both in terms of stability and importance and b) just how many people end up mistakenly thinking it is "the global town square".

It's not. It's an algorithmically-fueled 280-character bad-take spigot that tries to drive engagement via showing people the most enraging things it can find. Pretending that it's some crucial pillar of stability upholding democracy that Musk can use to topple the world order is simply ignorant. People will move on to bigger, and from what I have seen so far, probably better, things.
