@atomicpoet Short answer: no she is not.
Long answer:
First, how are we supposed to rework Twitter when we don't have any control over it?
Second, much of what she mentions are features, not bugs, of decentralization. Much of the rest are fundamental misunderstandings of Mastodon and Fediverse in general; most servers, be they general, math, or Equestria related, aren't going to ban you for talking on an off topic subject, either just with people on their server or with people on another.
Third, there's no restriction on having multiple accounts on Fediverse (I have two handles in active use, one that I am going to migrate to my own instance, and a few others that are inactive or redirected).
Fourth: even if Mastodon has issues, there's other ActivityPub software out there. I'm planning to use Akkoma for my personal instance.
I get the feeling she spouted this without doing much if any research, and thought that she could get away with that because of her degree.
I spent six years living in a falling apart hunting shack in northern Wisconsin with a living room window that overlooked Lake Superior.
One of my favorite things about being there was watching storms roll in across the lake.
Extremely lucky to get this shot by waiting for the lightning to start and repeatedly mashing the shutter button.

The Intercept's Lee Fang worked with Elon Musk on a "Twitter Files" story and used the opportunity to launch his own personal Substack, knowing his colleague at The Intercept @micahflee is still banned by Elon Musk for his factual reporting on Musk.
If Lee Fang is going to boost his own personal substack at the expense of any kind of principled solidarity with his colleagues, why should I continue my recurring donation to The Intercept? I'd rather my money go directly to Micah and Robert Mackey than to indirectly fund Fang's work - let Fang raise money on his own substack.
J.R.R. Tolkien Sent Illustrated Letters from Father Christmas to His Kids Every Year (1920-1943)
As a Union Electrician I'm basically self employed. When our job is done we call the hall, get a dispatch and go work for another contractor. I've worked with hundreds. I've never received a Christmas bonus from any except today. Thank you K and B Electrical Contractors out of #Louisville Kentucky. #IBEW #Electrician
LastPass, by being breached and almost certainly deliberately not telling their customers about this until just before Christmas needs to be nuked from orbit.
a) Class action lawsuit time. Make it hurt, hurt hurt.
b) User instructions for recovery MUST focus on migrating to either Bitwarden, 1Password, iCloud Keychain (if mac-only), or Chrome password manager (if google-only).
Hey folks, taking some inspiration from another toot. Reminder during these colder seasons -- if it's cold for you, imagine what it must be like to not have a #home in the US. There are hundreds of thousands of people in one of the wealthy nations on the plant who are at risk of these weather issues.
Local shelters are often on short supply for things like socks, underwear, underclothing, feminie hygiene products. A few bucks from you could LITERALLY save someone's life.
You want change? That's how it starts. We grow from our beginnings.
The Mark Meadows' texts with 34 Republicans re: overturning the 2020 election are a disturbing, hilarious, semi-literate, all-caps shrieking, hot mess. Yes, trying to overthrow an election is serious. But these bootlicking, keyboard-abusing Republicans are comedy gold. Hats off to Talking Points Memo for exposing this toxic drivel. Now, if Merrick Garland would just indict someone.
So #Twitter has announced that Twitter Blue suckers can now upload videos up to an hour in length (up from 10 minutes). Given their almost nonexistent content moderation now, what could go wrong?
Oh, this I completely missed this morning. She's the monster we've thought she was.

I got my hands on a 37-page guide for Kyrsten Sinema’s staff
Aides weren’t only expected to get her groceries and fix her internet but follow a… very detailed set of instructions about where to seat her on an airplane.

Banning abortion has serious economic consequences.
The #TurnawayStudy shows that women who are denied abortions are less likely to have enough money to cover expenses like food, housing, and transportation even years later.
There's a "Share on Mastodon" button for Chrome now!
We're big time now. Bravo #Mastodon

NOTICE: CAMBRIAN EXPLOSION AHEAD
If Mastodon fails to innovate past where it is today, it is ok. We can migrate to new things without losing our social graph.
There are multiple variants of fediverse social media systems that are in the works and are API compatible with Mastodon.
This whole big messy business can grow and extend just like body morphology in the Cambrian explosion.

@edzilla @simon @kimschulz
It's implemented, but not automatic : you have to tap the icon (circled in yellow in my screenshot) to switch to remote view. As I understand it, it uses the public (non authenticated) API to fetch the thread directly from the server on which it originated. @apps
