The sad thing about #EAS2024 for me is that I used to love the EAS meetings for a chance to meet up with folks from other areas of astro that I knew from twitter - I knew where they are in their career, what their recent successes and worries were, how they thought about big social issues in the field, whether I wanted to connect with them about mutual interest in sustainability/diversity/advising. Here all of that is gone 😭 Even the folks I knew earlier I don't connect to that well.

@vicgrinberg i'm sorry to hear that. I'm not a big fan of any social network but i'm feeling better here because i see more inclusiveness and i don't see so much hate so often recommend this to friends and colleagues. Nice to meet you, btw
