@kravietz @freemo Agreed, and an important point. It's all very subjective depending on experiences, hence my comment early on; lets agree to disagree.

@kravietz @freemo I think the debate should about the reasons for replacing "communism" with "socialism" around the time when internet became mainstream, because it seems like propaganda driven to me, or some kind of inflation moving everything to the right politically and losing the endpoint extremes in the process.

@kravietz @freemo "Far fetching statements" like being born and lived most of my life in the country I refer to in the discussion?

@kravietz @freemo Yes, agreed, it's not only that, but lately communism is being referred to as socialist, but that was not the case 20 - 30 years ago. USSR (CCCP aka Soviet) was communist.

@frankie95 @freemo Correct, or rather it was. That's how the nationalist socialist party won their first election in post depression Germany, by running trucks with bread to poor people. A party for the working man.

CIA 2010 propaganda proposals to combat pressure to withdraw troops from #Afghanistan:

"messaging that dramatizes the potential adverse consequences of a... defeat for Afghan civilians could leverage French (and other European) guilt for abandoning them"

Question for infosec people

Is there an open source alternative to Cyberark and similar products?

I'm looking for something that can manage secrets of all types, and not just user credentials (which is what things like Keycloak does)

@freemo Thinking worst case scenario; if hijacked at sea, the waste could be used to produce "dirty bombs".

Did we not already learn our lesson that nuclear power plants on or near the ocean are bad, very very bad! Stop this nonsense. Build it on tracks or as a vehicle if you realy want to... anything but this!

@freemo I agree with you regarding ships, they can be hijacked among other risks as well, but still think modern nuclear plants on land is a given to reduce CO2 emissions.

@freemo I think you are confused, partly because of this:
youtube.com/watch?v=NK1tfkESPV

The video is old but still holds true about decades of mainstream lies. Cuba and more countries are mentioned as being lied about.

@freemo It was easier when the CIA pushed narrative was "communism is bad" (the boogeyman), it's getting a bit more complicated the past two or three decades when "socialism" is the new "communism" propaganda wise. (Ask any old timer, they will confirm the communist ghost.)

@freemo Looks like it was a century, not 50 years:

"Swedish Social Democratic Party at May Day demonstration in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2006. The party has dominated Swedish politics for nearly a century. The trade union palace in Stockholm is seen at the end of the picture."

Also, first of May is still a public holiday in Sweden.

@freemo These days they all bend over to the empire, unfortunately, but it wasn't always that way.
