Tomorrow, #Artemis will be making its closest approach to the #Moon, zooming in close (<100 km) for a gravity assist, as it moves to enter a distant retrograde #orbit.

#NASA will be #livestreaming the flyby beginning at 7:15 AM EST (13:15 CET), with the closest approach scheduled for just after 7:57 AM EST (13:57 CET).

@peter_ravn retrograde orbit, interesting. I hadn't actually looked at the mission profile... That would let them see more of the lunar surface at a given distance, which makes sense if the goal of close approach is primarily observational.
