A few days ago I mentioned that two of my #Google Home units suddenly changed from male (pink) to female (red) voices, right in the middle of voice interactions. I switched them back without difficulty (but you need to know where the setting is buried in the Google app). These two were associated with the same G account.

This morning exactly the same thing happened with another Home unit on a different G account.

Looks like probably some sort of update rolling out is having this unintended side-effect as it reaches different accounts.

@lauren I bet someone broke the very-solid-but-not-always-enforced rule "Thou Shalt Add New Fields And Values Only At The End of Existing Protobuffer Messages And Enums."

(... or possibly the equally-important "Thou Shalt Never Reuse A Decommissioned Field ID or Enum Value")

@mtomczak Could be. I noticed that in the cases I've seen, the voice reset to the *first* choice available on the voice list as displayed in the UI.
