@mtomczak I'm sorry for your loss.
That resonated very strongly, and I don't have a definite solution either. But as long as we are here, we can work towards change. I don't know if it will get better, but while we are still here we can do our darnedest to make it a bit better.
It's something I've been struggling with because people ask me if it gets better, and I don't have an answer. I hate worrying about my friends because they're in trigger-happy states. I hate losing friends because people care about "protecting the unborn" but not the hell they go through afterwards. I hate how everyone refuses to take to the other side, as if "left" and "right" are gaping chasms that can't be crossed. There are so many things, but I'm still here.
It may be foolish and naive, but this quote from Dr. King is a big part of my thinking.

If I'm still here, I can make change, and if we help each other keep going we can make a difference.
