Whoopi Goldberg got a reputation as an anti-semite for trying to say one simple thing. A black man has different skin than a white man. If a white man is racist towards a black man, there is reason to believe this is because of the colour of his skin. A Jew is white, and in nothing physically different from all other whites, so racism towards him has cultural reasons. Now, this is a reading that can be debated, but it is certainly not anti-semitic.
