technologies proven to be effective and safe
To think that we have such wealth to draw from, yet those in position to implement nationwide changes refuse to act, is something that profoundly disturbs me The scale of pain inflicted on Joe Public & the disregard for humanity's well being is staggering. I should've known better, there are precedents after all

A story of LongCovid disability
RT @aspoonielife@twitter.com
Hi, I’m Hannah! This is my story of battling long COVID. I got COVID in August of 2020 at 23 years old which turned into COVID pneumonia. Little did I know that I would be completely disabled from then on. It seems as though I get worse every day. (1/?)

"colds don’t behave the way COVID does in the body.
Colds, for example, don’t leave 2.3 per cent of athletes with inflamed hearts after infection, as tests found at 10 U.S. universities.
Nor do colds worsen outcomes with each subsequent infection, as Goodnow and others worry may be the case with COVID"

This is how an Alzheimer’s gene ravages the brain.
Study in cells and mice suggests that the variant APOE4 affects the all-important insulation around nerve cells.

Belated introduction. #paediatric & adult #anaesthesist looking after sick kids at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne plus others.
Prior to this trained as a #virologist with an interest in #publichealth health (MPH).
Developed an interest in mitigating virus transmission, specifically around risk of shared air.
Built https://CleanAirStars.com (@cleanairstars) to bridge knowledge gaps, reduce the barrier to adoption of #CleanAir, & incentivise businesses to take action.
So the game remains the same.
1. Avoid infection of a biohazard level 3 pathogen.
2. If already infected avoid as many infections as possible.
3.Wear n95+ respirators anytime you’re near other mouth breathers.
4. Ventilation+filtration (portable HEPA or PAPR)
5.Maintain your immune system with vitamins C,D, zinc, adequate sleep etc.
6. Survive long enough to watch these motherfuckers pay for mass infecting us and our children.
"literature brims with accounts of viruses and bacteria behaving strangely in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. ... Some researchers have speculated that a rash of fungal diseases that have plagued COVID patients may in part be due to depleted T cells. They are known to play a vital role in the adaptive immune response against fungal infections.
There, too, has been an inexplicable rise in brain infections among children." #Leonardieffect
"scientists take the idea of immune suppression in the wake of COVID infections very seriously. A Public Health Ontario brief warned...that “...acquired impaired immunity... could have significant impact on the incidence... of infectious diseases ….& other conditions in the longer-term.”
...Brendan Crabb, ...told Bloomberg that he’d be surprised if COVID didn’t have an effect on the infectiousness of other diseases given its documented impairment of the immune system in long COVID patients."
"Immune suppression from COVID could worsen symptoms for other pathogens; change the transmission behavior of other viruses and even create chronic carriers for different diseases.
So evidence grows that the “Leonardi Effect” is real."

In a school case study I report real-world experience from daily usage of 47 HEPA and 60 DIY air cleaners in a California elementary school during the academic school year from spring 2021 through fall of 2022 in 16 classrooms, library, auditorium, lunchroom, and hallway. (20/25)

@1goodtern@twitter.com It means he recommended keeping them in unventilated rooms with no mitigations, recommended no vaccinations, in the face of a highly transmissible novel virus, but doesn't want to say he advocated to let them get infected by it.
