@ambulocetus it's true that we are arguing against decades of brainwashing, but you have to start somewhere and counteract brainwashing with facts. That's how deprogramming anti-cult anti-brainwashing works. They've been brainwashed through lies. The best way to de-brainwash them is to explain the facts to them in a rational manner. You have to make sure the facts get through to them. Only when they have, can the deprogramming start to get through to them. It's not an immediate fix, but a process. It's a combination of compassion, understanding, not demeaning them, but letting them know there is a different way to see the world.
