@trinsec Oh, sorry, I replied to that post without looking at the context behind the notification.
But, yeah, it is strange.

"The fragmentation among friends that follows Twitter’s collapse is exactly the kind of problem that Mastodon and the social web solves for. Imagine that you don’t have to pick and choose which new platform to adopt, or make and maintain a million accounts—because you can follow anyone regardless of which platform they’re on. That’s our reality."
Uhh, the fediverse has a huge fragmentation problem.
Yu Yu Hakusho. A precursor to Bleach, that #anime which I'm sure that everyone here knows about.
Ghosts. Supernatural powers. Out of body experiences. Investigating spiritual cases on the behalf of the underworld.
I went looking for images and practically every image was like 4k (and thus impossible to upload) so this one it is.
Soul Eater. Three teams at the Death Weapon Meister Academy must gather enough souls from evil people to create a death scythe. #anime
Needless. After World War III, there is a great big contaminated crater where Tokyo once stood, and within it are people with strange powers called fragments. #anime
@ex He's a troll who goes around making posts like this.

@gavinisdie @charliejane That's not the only argument they might use. They might call transitions a form of self-harm.
Not focusing on any of the benefits at all? Just saying "capitalism bad"?
@boud I think it's a mischievous admin providing false statistics and the federation info presenting it uncritically.
@noellemitchell In my personal experience, it depends a lot on the kinds of people you follow / interact with.
For more regular people, they're far more active during the weekend for me.
For people who seem to use the fediverse more professionally, such as policy folks, they're here during weekdays.
@WolfStar76 In a nutshell, the character limit is a bit of code which any instance admin (or developer) can change.
A lot of people don't like being limited to small posts, so it's a very popular tweak.
I prefer the real one though, back in the 2D world.
