To be fair to Shogun, it sounds like a film based on a specific time period, it's not some "live action adaptation" of "One Piece".

The ironic thing about Death Note is that they could have stopped people being killed just by not putting people's names up on the television.

A number of bits of Chinese content (i.e. novels, movies) would be alright, if for one detail, someone shoving in propaganda about how wonderful China is (i.e. China is the best in the world).

Since that post seemed to be bugged, I posted it again.

"age assurance" is more of a blanket term for guessing at someone's age. "age verification" is a more specific implementation of "age assurance".

You know what, let's be a bit more specific about it.

independent.ie/business/media- "age assurance" covers data collection, guessing and stupidity. Some got banned by FB for "being minors" for rping as obvious / toon style characters.

"age verification" is not the only way that "age assurance" might be practiced badly.

apnews.com/article/arkansas-bo
"A federal judge on Monday struck down key parts of an law that would have allowed criminal charges against librarians and booksellers for providing “harmful” materials to minors."

"The law would have created a new process to challenge library materials and request that they be relocated to areas not accessible to children."

independent.ie/business/media- Twitter takes legal action against Irish censorship.

Now, you might not like Twitter's boss, but it looks like is seriously over-reaching here.

It's not always easy to tell how much censorship in the E.U. comes from the E.U. itself and how much of it comes from Ireland.

Ireland is a very puritanical country.

If it doesn't drive censorship, why did Bluesky engage in censorship the moment the Commission yelled at them about it.

theparliamentmagazine.eu/news/ This is a more mature take on the DSA than we usually see from people who insist it doesn't drive censorship.

nichegamer.com/going-medieval- If you think about it, it kind of looks like the wall is made of giant pencils. Lol.

It's so Square Enix to spend more than a decade developing something. Lol.

Ironically, this particular video is not available in Japan.

Apparently, Bluesky users are having difficulty understanding that they have to follow the bridge user to become visible to fediverse users and that has reignited the opt-in / opt-out debate.

There was an anime where the Japanese death penalty made an appearance and it was death by hanging. I haven't looked deeply into it though.

youtube.com/watch?v=Ku5fgOHy1J It looks like it.

I remember there were people who died in a fire who were involved in it. I vaguely recall a prosecutor pursuing the death penalty for an arsonist.
