When a puritanical troll promotes an adaptation of a game with lots of sex scenes, and then berates people for not liking puritanism.

It's concerning how one company can cut someone off from many services.

"Why does Hetzner keep censoring LGBT content?"
Likely because it's a German company. There was an obscure German official who went around going "you need to age verify!" with a vague standard of indecency.

Quick recommendation.

Avoid following an account *simply because it's an "anime fan account"* if it's an account preoccupied with hating on titles, genres, elements, and so forth.

I'm hearing that they now have nomadic identities in a couple of fediverse systems (not Mastodon). That sounds interesting.

I'm looking at Nostr as I've been hearing about it for years and it has an interesting concept. I want a better understanding of the landscape.

If there are other projects you think would be interesting for me to look at, feel free to make suggestions.

I've been hearing of quite a few interesting decentralized / federated systems but I haven't had the time to look at them all.

Apparently, Misskey is considering breaking federation with Mastodon.

@KazuShuSora I read the manga for that one before watching the anime.

Someone says a German high court ruled that fictional text does not fall under the definition of child porn.

That sounds a lot like the Quebec ruling.

Well, please share more info / links with me, so I can look into it.

I know about the "sex dolls" case. An article from a lawyer said the Federal Constitutional Court was currently looking into a statute to do with those.

I see someone has confused a official trying to compel a site to follow a bad age verification bill with thinking it was a child porn statute (i.e. thinking there might be a statute that is over-broad).

This is one of the problems with people making assumptions about things.

I see people are using Wikipedia for legal advice. Don't do that. When I looked at legal information on there before, it was out-of-date / inaccurate.

Commenting on something to do with RMS.

RMS sounds like someone who is really effective at advocacy and rallying a base of activists. But, also, like one-on-one having issues (someone points out his pedantry like saying GNU/Linux).

In terms of puritanism, the fediverse ranges from being less puritanical than Twitter to being more puritanical than Twitter.

Someone tells me that Twitter is still puritanical.

With Twitter, it's less puritanical than a few other platforms (then again, it's not hard to beat nipple censoring Facebook). However, it became more puritanical under the previous management (around 2018 - 2022), then more so under the current management.

"You are not allowed to support the Republican Party on this instance."
I saw something like that in an instance's rules.

It reminds me of how in the U.S., there are only really two political parties. In a lot of other countries, there are more.

The PDS at the top with a lot of users is the Bluesky - Fediverse bridge.
