Well, people like alcohol, so if a politician attacks that, then people are not going to be happy.

Actually getting politicians to loosen censorship can be a nightmare, so the idea that someone can put a restriction in place at first and remove it later is ridiculous.

It involves a utopian world of tech policy which doesn't exist.

Progress is being made.

Curiously, some anti porn points were removed (vaguer ones), but if they're still making new ones, then it's hard to see this as progress.

It kind of already falls under the "new technology" paragraph. That was to cover AI, but frankly, if someone argues that "VR" is a new technology, that should also cover that.

Also, ridiculous amounts of concern trolling with very unlikely imaginary scenarios.

The original "WeProtect" goes back as far as David Cameron. The guy who tried to make a far right party which passed things like Section 28 of the Local Government Act (a law which prohibited councils and schools from "promoting homosexuality") look a bit more "reasonable".

He is also the one who wrecked Britain with Brexit. A stupid political stunt.

The more recent iteration involves far more recent ministers.

If you're thinking that they said this a while ago, that might be so, it's not as if we allow grifters like this to live rent free inside our heads.

You also have to ask yourself, why did the now former commissioner Johansson work with such extremist nonsense peddling charlatans?

That's the thing with groups like this. You have to ask yourself, why is someone so obsessed with clearly ridiculous ideas which are only harmful and are not effective.

And there you have it, they just don't like porn.

The very same fake foundation backed by a far right British Home Office which was promoting things like chat control.

One thing I'm thinking on commenting on is Covid (although, sometimes there is a better way to bring up a particular point, so that plan might change).

This time, I've expanded upon the stigma section. I have seen a number of misguided opinions about online porn, sometimes focusing on content, some...

Can't say I'm surprised the Australian Government is in an awkward position over their alcohol rhetoric now. I said a month ago that messing with that wouldn't go over well with the public.

It's a category called "drugs and alcohol", so it could be either drugs, alcohol, or both. I don't know about alcohol but drugs have been a grounds for a ban before. I didn't convey that well initially.

Drugs might not mean illegal drugs either. I think controlled substances have been swept up by the definition before.

Australia banned a game called Fairy Snake created by Wei Zhang.

There is an advisory which says it contains drugs and alcohol. This is often a reason for banning a game. It also says it contains sexual themes.

The page is vague on what the game is about so I dug a bit further and found these images.

"MAGA beliefs that they are being censored by Biden might kill KOSA."

To be honest, everyone should be wary of giving control over speech to the government.

If you think about it, this is a nasty business practice where someone is unable to pay for the thing, so someone just decides to go off and sell their stuff.

This isn't an opinion on the game but on the business practice.

There is even (or was) a TV show about it where someone's things are auctioned off. It is essentially entertainment about someone getting screwed.

Maybe, there isn't a whole lot that someone can do with the items in an unpaid locker but damn.
