The Fifth Circuit also covers Louisiana but that is a simpler way of putting it.

If something has absolutely nothing to do with Texas, I don't see how they would be involved.

Apparently, I have to explain this for . Different parts of the U.S. have different federal Courts of Appeal.

The Ninth Circuit is the superior court to the district courts in California. The Fifth Circuit is the one for Texas.

Oh joy, now there is an idiot on Bluesky who doesn't comprehend the concept of jurisdiction.

I see someone is still arguing about "MSC" being properly run, despite the "13+ chat group" marketing.

If he's aiming to advance civil liberties though, that *one point* has single-handedly made him the object of *scandal* for no real good reason. It is nothing but a shackle. He could have removed it years ago, especially after it was abundantly clear that it was a no-go.

One issue is that financial firms are just not in a good spot to be making decisions of this kind and they have been handling it badly, especially when it gets fuzzier. When they do act, it can involve a lot of collateral damage (and with questionable efficacy).

If you want my angle on the financial censorship issue, it sounds to me like a company said something vague and another firm is responding by behaving nonsensically.

Fuzzy language like giving regard isn't that useful.

Ever since it's launch, Facebook's prudishness has been a nuisance to folks the world over.

Also, for a company which dislikes nudity, isn't it kind of ironic how Meta's logo looks like a pair of boobs?

Sometimes, there is an edit button on posts, and sometimes, there isn't.

Remember that many human rights experts asked Facebook to drop their nudity policy (and their own Oversight Board supported this), and the company just decided not to do it.

I'm not talking about any one post or user. I went through a number of posts (the majority of which are unrelated / irrelevant) to uncover the phenomena.

I've been critical of Bluesky's (ridiculously tiny) character limit for some time, and I've commented on how context collapse was an issue on Twitter (under the previous management).
