I'm also wary of inadvertently suggesting that ingesting data should be considered a violation of copyright. I want to avoid that.

The post is generally framed from the perspective of dealing with censorship, particularly heavy-handed censorship.

qoto.org/@olives/1137308345911 Should I expand on the AI angle a bit? I'm wary of over-explaining though.

nichegamer.com/manga-publisher If you look at this one, it might also come off as "aged up" in some ways, but it is more the homogenous generic style of the "AI".

The characters in the new GFL seeming "aged up" () might have more to do with how generic the new character designs seem to be than any deliberate effort.

Erotic content doesn't magically "become bad" just because it's done in and it still violates human rights to censor it.

"the resort to fiction and the imaginary must be understood and respected as a crucial element of the freedom indispensable for creative activities and artistic expressions"
"artists should be able to explore the darker side of humanity, and to represent crimes or what some may consider as “immorality”, without being accused of promoting these"

If you want my angle on the financial censorship issue, it sounds to me like a company said something vague and another firm is responding by behaving nonsensically.

Buggy boosts are honestly annoying as I might not want to post the same thing five times over weeks or months.

One issue is that financial firms are just not in a good spot to be making decisions of this kind and they have been handling it badly, especially when it gets fuzzier. When they do act, it can involve a lot of collateral damage (and with questionable efficacy).

I saw an article a few months ago where they did it with a classic manga and it struck me how generic and homogenous the characters felt.

When I say "AI" (with quotes), I mean, artificial "intelligence".

A concern I'd have with "AI" is that the art styles would be awfully homogenous.

"A federal judge on Monday struck down key parts of an law that would have allowed criminal charges against librarians and booksellers for providing “harmful” materials to minors."

"The law would have created a new process to challenge library materials and request that they be relocated to areas not accessible to children."

They even adapted Ace Attorney into an anime.

Oh boy, Ace Attorney. That Phoenix Wright has to deal with so much nonsense. Lol.

Don't underestimate the chances of humans screwing up when it comes to censorship.

I remember a case where someone was like "it's got to be an algorithm" because it was so bizarre and stupid. When the company fixed it, it turned out it wasn't just a human, it was multiple humans.
